It is designed for anyone who is required to use a total station for setting out or surveying a construction site. \nThe course is designed for: \nTotal Station for Construction training program is designed for individuals who belong to any of the following categories:\n– Students who are studying Civil Engineering or Construction Management at any level.\n– Trainee engineers.\n– Graduate Engineers or Construction Managers.\n– Individuals who are already using the total station on site but have not undergone structured training.\n– Other professionals with relevant industry experience. If you fall under this category\, please feel free to contact us to discuss your specific situation\, and we will offer you advice accordingly. \nTotal Station for Construction Course content\nBy the end of the course\, delegates will gain the following skills: \n– Setting up the total station over a point\n– Performing relevant calibration checks\, including vertical and horizontal collimation error\, optical/laser plummet\, prism constant\, and diaphragm orientation\n– Identifying possible sources of error when using a total station\n– Using techniques to improve and check accuracy and precision\n– Viewing\, editing\, adding\, and deleting data\n– Installing a network of primary control points from scratch (traverse)\n– Installing accurate secondary control points (retro targets) using the correct procedure\n– Creating a local coordinate system for a building on gridlines\n– Using the correct procedures for measuring and setting out reduced levels with the total station\n– Describing a range of methods for plumbing columns and walls\n– Set up the orientation and position of the total station using the occupied point programs or resection.\n– Taking a topographical survey and recording the results systematically\n– Measuring the horizontal distance and level differences between points using the tie-distance function\n– Setting out points of known co-ordinates using the stake-out function\n– Setting out points in relation to a baseline using the reference line function\n– Setting out points at provided chainages and offsets along a radius using the reference arc function\n– Measuring irregular areas and volumes\n– Transferring large amounts of data from the total station to the computer and vice versa\n– Describing the capabilities and limitations of GNSS equipment\n– Describing the capabilities of robotic total stations.
