GNSS Training Course is designed for individuals who want to learn how to conduct surveys using GNSS on Leica, Trimble or Topcon equipment.
Participants are expected to have a working knowledge of 3D coordinate geometry and construction drawings.

GNSS Training Course Content
Upon completion of this course, attendees will acquire the following skills:
– Understanding of GNSS terminology
– Knowledge of the basic principles of GNSS technology
– Ability to identify situations where GNSS is appropriate and where it is not
– Ability to perform a site calibration to establish a local coordinate system
– Ability to recognise potential sources of error in GNNS
– Familiarity with factors affecting accuracy and ability to monitor accuracy level
– Ability to select the appropriate scale factor and enter data manually into the controller
– Ability to connect the controller with the GNSS rover and navigate through menus and programs
– Ability to navigate through stored information in list format and map view and to view, edit, add, and delete data
– Ability to enter correct settings and select the correct prism constant
– Ability to conduct a topographical survey and systematically record results
– Ability to set out points of known coordinates using the onboard functionality and set out points about a baseline using the onboard functionality
– Ability to set out points along a radius (e.g. road centrelines) with given chainages and offsets using onboard functionality
– Ability to transfer large amounts of data between the controller and the computer
– Ability to extract line data, such as the horizontal distance and level difference between two points, and measure irregular areas and volumes (e.g. stockpiles)
– Ability to import and work with DXF and DTMs and create and export DXFs and DTMs
– Capability to import and export data to and from Excel.
