PAS 2030 Assessment Step by Step Guide

Are you familiar with the certification process for PAS 2030, or is this new to you? Our blog post can help you navigate through the assessment process and obtain PAS 2030 certification. Our step-by-step guide covers everything you need to know, including how to complete your registration application, how to prepare for your assessment, and what to expect once you are certified. With this guide, you can confidently achieve your certification goals.

What is PAS 2030?

PAS 2030 refers to a comprehensive set of guidelines that have been put in place to assist installers in ensuring that their energy efficiency upgrades meet the specific requirements of their clients. These guidelines apply to all types of homes, irrespective of their size or location, and are designed to provide clear specifications for the installation process.

The primary objective of PAS 2030 is to provide a standardized and consistent approach to energy efficiency upgrades, specifically for Green Deal and ECO installations. This means that by adhering to these guidelines, firms can undertake retrofit projects focusing on energy efficiency improvements while ensuring that the final outcome meets the highest possible standards.

In essence, PAS 2030  is an essential resource that installers can use to ensure that their energy efficiency upgrades are carried out in a manner that is both efficient and effective. By following these guidelines, they can help their clients achieve significant energy savings while also contributing to a more sustainable future for all.

Three main categories of installations that fall under the Energy Efficiency Measures (EEM) standard.

These categories are (BFM) Building Fabric Measures, (BSM)Building Services Mechanical, and (BSE) Building Services Electrical. BFM includes insulation, glazing, and doors, while BSM covers boilers and heating systems. BSE includes lighting and lighting controls.

Who is PAS 2030 suitable for?

This standard pertains to the installers who are responsible for implementing energy efficiency measures (EEM) in already existing dwellings, commonly known as “RetroFit dwellings.” The purpose of this standard is to provide guidelines and instructions to the installers for the installation process, which includes but is not limited to inspection of the site, preparing the site for installation, installing the EEM, and conducting final checks to ensure that the EEM is correctly installed. It should be noted that this standard does not cover the design of the EEM; that responsibility is now covered in PAS 2035.

Types of work covered by PAS 2030

Heating: This includes Condensing Boilers (Gas\LPG\Oil) Fired (Domestic and Non-Domestic), Heating Under-Floor Heating, Flue Gas Recovery, Heating Systems Insulation (pipes and cylinders), and Warm Air Units.

How do you choose a PAS 2030 Certification Body?

When implementing an industry certification and achieving a certain standard, choosing the right certification body is crucial. It makes the certification process easier and adds credibility to your certification, helping you retain existing customers and win new business.

One such certification is the PAS 2030 certification, which UKAS-accredited certification providers like the British Assessment Bureau issue.
